REGISTRATION IS FULL for both February and March dates. Upcoming sessions TBA.

This workshop serves as an introduction to the concept of trauma-informed and healing-centered tattooing. It will discuss nervous system responses to tattooing and practices to facilitate a safer and more empowering experience for clients. We will cover good communication and consent practices, trust-building with clientele, and how to approach our work beyond basic customer service. We will also address common misconceptions about trauma-informed practices and how to approach this framework in a way that is sustainable for ourselves as artists.

Compassion Fatigue and Burnout Prevention For Tattoo Artists

burnout.jpg

This workshop will discuss in-depth the ways that tattooing as a service and profession can impact the emotional and mental well-being of its practitioners. We will cover burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma, their effects, and recovery and support strategies artists can employ towards career longevity. We’ll investigate embodied approaches to knowing our boundaries and how to better enforce them in our work lives, as well as understanding how our identities and industry positionality can make us more vulnerable to burnout.
